This is the official site of the Regional Indoor Football League and it's teams. Mr. Williams, who was recently removed from the league, has started a page and has a website he says is coming soon, using the RIFL name and likenesses. He is in no way affiliated with the RIFL and teams, coaches and media should be aware. The following link or links from it, ARE NOT affiliated with our league. www.hometeamsonline.com/teams/?u=REGIONALINDOORFOOTBALL&s=football&t=c. We wish Will all the best but the official RIFL is in no way affiliated with the above link.

The RIFL has terminated their agreement with the Augusta Mavericks. League officials said "When we allowed the Mavericks into our league we were not aware that they were under a participation agreement with another league. We feel that should be honored, just as we would want another league to honor ours."

Due to events within the league, RIFL officials are addressing current situations as we speak. We will be having a conference call on Thursday April 8th to dictate new league duties to the remaining RIFL officials. The RIFL is and will be a legitimate minor league indoor football league. And we will continue to strive to do good business and entertain the fans by any means necessary. Additions and subtractions to the league will be decided by next Thursday. RIFL officials are in agreement that a change is absolutely needed for the league to move forward.

Mike Perkins had 5 interceptions and James Friedman had three touchdowns as the Sarasota Scorpions beat down the Tampa Tigers in a preseason game on Sunday, 42-12. The Scorpions finished the preseason at 2-0. Friedman opened the scoring with a 20 yard touchdown reception from Millard Dawson and the conversion made it 8-0 Sarasota. Shortly after that Avery Adams scampered around the corner for a 10 yard touchdown and it was 14-0 Scorpions after the conversion failed. Mike Perkins' second interception of the game set up another Dawson 20 yard touchdown toss, this one to Aaron Weedo and with the 2 point conversion Sarasota held a 22-0 lead. Then disaster struck...the opponent scored. The Tigers scored the first points against the Scorpions in the preseason. But Friedman widened the lead back to 22 points by returning the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown and with the conversion it was 30-6. Dean Richter led the way defensively with 13 tackles and an interception that he returned for a touchdown and Mike Loehr added 8 tackles of his own. Jake Smith had 3 sacks and Greg Kieninger had a pair of strong pressures, one that directly led to one of Perkins' interceptions. Patrick Cavalry knocked down 3 passes. Glenn Woods added a 5 yard touchdown run.
