Do you realize the guy running the RIFL is Will Williams. He has been trying to run an indoor team/league for over 5 years and has yet to finish a season. The RIFL Network? Are you serious. AIFA, IFL, SIFL, CIFL can't get on TV.

In other RIFL news, the 2011 season will feature some Thursday night games and also some Saturday afternoon games. The games will be played between division rivals. Playing games within the division means less travel times for games, thus making Thursday night games possible. Thursday games will only be played between teams that are less then 5 hours apart. Team owners that are interested in scheduling Thursday night games for the 2011 season should contact the RIFL Scheduling Comittee...

The RIFL announced that a team operating cap of $60,000, including front office personnel, will be in place for the first 10 years. This step was put in place to assure that franchises don't get themselves upside down on the balance sheet. All owners are considered partners in the league and we want to see everyone be successful and be with us for a long time. In 2011 the league will be bringing on a Commissioner who will serve as the day to day CEO of Operations related to the business of football on field facilitator.

Dolce fashion will team up with the RIFL for a tour during the 2011 season. The lovely models of Dolce will grace the runway for a good cause, the Susan G. Kormen Breast Cancer Awareness program. The Pink Carpet Fashion Extravaganza is put together by Kevin Dozier, Director of Operations Patrina Jordan and Event Coordinator Mari Brown. RIFL officials said "We know we are a minor league sports organization but we can do some out of the box events that will give us an opportunity to cross over into other markets." The tour will travel across the league but no date for the first event has been set as of yet. "It will also give some of our players and possibly coaches, who have a flare for dress, the chance to be a part of the show when it comes to their city. We are very excited about this opportunity."

They do post alot of info. At least we know they are alive. You have to check the pulse of some leagues to see if there is any sign of life (APFL) and even then you can't be sure. Hopefully the league makes it.

I've played for 2 arena teams. Both are still up and kicking... I've also played for 2 semi-pro teams, both still up and kicking. I was with the Rustlers for a short period of time.... and to be completely honest, I'd rather be apart of a semi-pro team than waste my time with the Rustlers or any other team affiliated with them. Trust me, they won't make it. The league won't make it. They have a team listed under their league that is also under the SIFL... go support the IIFA, they are a more professional league than the RIFL. Trust me, I've been there. I also created some of the logos for the "proposed" teams. If they do pan out, I'd better be getting a check or else I'll own the whole league! hahaha

The 2010 RIFL season will play out as a short schedule. League officials said that in a tough economic climate and continued recession that it was the correct business choice for the league. We understand that some of our clubs would be put in a situation of all or nothing as a first year business, and we are making moves for clubs who came on board late and still were looking to get some games played, but would not be able to sustain themselves even after we had adjusted schedules to fit them in. And as business partners our main goal is to make sure every franchise has a healthy bottom line. We had already planned for this season to be one of no stress on teams financial systems , by re launching the league with all member franchises playing in 2011. The short schedule will be competitive and lively and give the league time to add yet another division as more teams have been added for the 2011 season .
