Posted Jun 19/10 - League merger ? Rumor has the PIFL and Two other leagues holding possible 2011 venture conversation.
If such conversations are taking place it could make things in Indoor Football interesting when it comes to Dollars and Cents.
League officals said that in the Indoor game no one organization has a monoply so there is plenty of room to grow, and the days of being an ego driven Owner are over look at the number of teams for sale with none to few buyers lined up to take them over.

Posted Jun 28/10 - This week featured PIFL Conversation With is Kenney McGee owner of the Ardmore Titans of Oklahoma.
Question- What type of plans do you have for being involved in your community?
Answer- My family has always been involved in our community through Church Out Reach Programs we will use those contacts to reach out and add our Titans programs such as educational and skills development.
Question- Since you are launching a sports organization in a still tough economy how will you stay out of the Red Ink.
Answer- The league has a cap in place and we will operate within that but we also have a team budget and will not spend anything over that self imposed cap, this league is setup for the owners as partners to reach out so when we visit if one of us is over budget we also place that burden on our partners and to be a good business partner you don't want to put that on the others in the group.
We can't operate like it is just me the bad choice will effect.
Question-Can your team win the PIFL Championship in its first season?
Answer- I would like to think we can, be in the hunt it will take a few breaks and we must win our home games our division will be tough enough to win and then the rest of the teams aren't going to be easy to go through.
Question- What type of player are you looking to have on the Titans?
Avswer-We want people who know what is to get up when knocked down, those types can bounce back when a let down comes and seem to understand on the way up the Mountain there will be some things to over come.
The talent of playing football is important to us but we are also interested in helping to build young Men who have something to offer a community away from the field , that is also what the PIFL is based around as a league.
Thanks Kenney McGee for being the first (PIFL Conversation With) guest the PIFL Network is the Newsletter of the league and this segment will feature players, coaches, owners, fans, and others talking about a vast amount of topics alone with questions about the league and teams.

Posted Jul 3/10 - This weeks ( PIFL Conversation With) features Steve Williams Player Development Director West Texas Rustlers Football.
Question- How difficult is your job to locate players?
Answer-It can be at times a little hard but coach Hodge and his staff make my job really easy, I take a close look at what the player brings to the table, and then we have a conversation about the position itself and if that player will impact it.
Question- With the PIFL being a league for young talent are you looking for just talent ?
Answer- The Rustlers and the PIFL is put together to build people as well ,so my job is to look at the young Man as a person first while he may have outstanding talent.
What type of person is he those two things have to come together before I consider even holding a conversation with coaches about the talent.
Question-Do you and the coaches have different view points on players at times?
Answer- Yes that is only human nature if we do then we may decide to take a chance and see if the player can adjust and fit our team concept, I like giving people chances each one of us has short comings and deserve a second chance.
Question-With the talent in West Texas can the Rustlers win the PIFL championship?
Answer- We have built the team with only West Texas talent, first to help build a local and regional appeal to fans and second because the area is rich in football talent, we have been able to find speed size and good off the field people.
We have a showcase type organization and we must have players that can deal with the pressure that comes with that, we expect to win the championship no disrespect to the other teams even in our division where we will have to battle with our local rival the Odessa Vaqueros.
We must defend our home turf first and if we do that well then our chances of getting to and winning the championship is good, our expectation is championship or the season will be a bust we will be playing for the Ring every time we hit the field. Just winning won't be enough sure this puts pressure on our coaches but those guys only want championships, and to reach those type of goals expectations have to be high.
Thanks Steve Williams for visiting with us in the (PIFL Conversation With)

Posted Jul 11/10 - The PIFL has been holding talks with Sports power brokers in other Country's about exhibition games each year and broadcast of PIFL games on foreign soil. We are close to signing off to show case the league teams in other parts of the World and have been working hard to get the deals done league officials said, PIFL International our wing of exploring opportunities on a Global bases has been in conversation with Two locations abroad and we hope to be able to have these deals done and ready to go for 2012 our launching point for these events. Both foreign parties are excited to have the opportunity and they have worked hard to get all the Government Red tape taken care of in order for this to happen, as for the broadcast portion of this we have them pretty much done and will be ready to go in 2012. PIFL officials said while we consider our league a (AA) minor league system we are and will be aggressive in what we do for our business partners the owners, and we see opportunity to be profitable without a lot of loss by being what we are.

Posted Jul 11/10 - This weeks (PIFL Conversation With) is Brett Reaves owner Fort Worth Diablos. Question-Your team is located in a city known for being a minor league team killer, even the NBA D-League left town after losing over Two Million dollars in 2 seasons. How will you survive in that market? Answer-I'm a retired Air Force guy everything was done with planning, here the best way to secure success is by having your own venue and we are working on making that happen. While it doesn't guarantee success it will give us a much better chance than having to deal with the city and its locations. Question-Can you recruit good players in such a vast metroplex area? Answer-The last words in your question should allow us to recruit from a large pool but the key will be good impact type players. Question-Can the Diablos make the playoffs and maybe get to the Championship game? Answer-I'm used to winning and everything I do is about winning, so expectations are get into the playoffs and lets see what happen after you get in that game,we will see some good teams but I expect us to have a good solid core as well. Question-In a still poor economy many sports organizations are losing large amounts of Money , how will you handle that situation? Answer-This league is set up from the standpoint of owners being successful on and off the field,we have a low operating budget and unless an owner is foolish he should make a profit even though this industry is known for being a Money losing operation. The PIFL as a league operates in a manor of losing the least amount Money possible, which is why we are built around young talent. Thanks Brett for taking the time to visit with us .

Posted Jul 14/10 - The 2011 season will start with a bang as the league has the PIFL kickoff Party on Friday March 18th featuring a Fashion show and music entertainment and Saturday March 19th the battle of East Texas Roustabout Trophy game featuring.
The Conroe Jaguars vs the East Texas Drillers in Conroe,Texas
Coach Ron Rankin will feature his high powered offense vs the Drillers defense, coach Rankin brings a wealth of football knowledge to the field and the Jags are loading up on talent Mike Williams is an aggressive Owner who likes to win so this will be a good early test to see where the Jaguars stack up .
Drillers Owner Roger Viser has said he will have a rookie head coach but this game has a lot of East Texas pride riding on it so will he stay retired ?
This will get the league off with a bang as matchups like this one will be the norm from week to week, as some infamous NFL player once said better get your Pop Corn ready.
Full PIFL Schedule coming in September. I thought this game was to be the Kickoff Classic Hopefully you can get a refund if you have already purchased your tickets for this game, but the place to click for tickets is no longer on the PIFL site. Plus the Drillers and Jaguars are scheduled to be in the IIFA in 2011.
