Amarillo, TX 5/16/11 - Due to popular demand, the Amarillo Venom will be having another football and cheerleading camp on Monday, June 6th. The football camp will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and the cheerleading camp will follow from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Both camps will take place at the Amarillo Civic Center, located at 401 S. Buchanan.
"We've had several people tell us how much their children enjoyed the camp and ask us about doing another one," said Joe Morgado, the Venom's general manager. "With as much interest as we've had, we wanted to do one more camp."
Venom football players as well as the Venom coaching staff will run the football camp that will teach students the fundamental skills of playing football. The camp will cost $35 and will include a camp T-shirt and two tickets to the Venom's game that night against the Bricktown Brawlers where campers will participate in various pregame activities.
"Everyone had a great time at the last camp," said Morgado. "That night, campers got to lead our team out of the tunnel and onto the field."
The cheerleading camp will follow the football camp and will be run by the Venom Vixens. The cheerleading camp will cost $35 and will include pompoms, a camp T-shirt, and two tickets to the Venom's game that night against the Bricktown Brawlers where campers will perform during the game.
The football camp is open to children ages 6-14 and participants will be broken into age appropriate groups. The dance camp is open to children ages 4-17.
For more information or to signup for one of the camps call the Venom's office at (806)350-7277 or go to their Web site www.govenom.com . Space is limited so don't wait.
