CANTON, OH – The Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL) is announcing the completion of last week’s trade between Canton and Johnstown. In addition, the two teams got together on another trade.
Quarterback Tavares Woodley was sent to Johnstown to complete the trade for defensive back Nate Ford. In three games with Canton, including one start, Woodley completed 39 percent (16-of-41) of his passes for 208 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. Woodley seemingly would replace David Dinkins, who the Generals will be releasing this week.
Woodley isn’t the only former Cougar headed to Johnstown as defensive back Matt Speed was traded to the Generals for future considerations. Speed is currently tied for second in the league with four interceptions.
The two teams will meet in Canton on May 28, the last week of the season.
