HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, KY – The Northern Kentucky River Monsters were out to prove they could play defense as well. They held Huntington scoreless in two of the four quarters in claiming sole possession of first place in the Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL) standings with the 69-40 victory Friday at the Bank of Kentucky Center.
Much of the debate involving the game centered on Northern Kentucky’s top-ranked offense against the top-ranked Huntington defense. The River Monsters proved that their offense was more potent, scoring on their first three and six of their seven first-half possessions.
SAGINAW 33, JOHNSTOWN 29: Saginaw improved to 4-2 on the season, tied for second place and one-game behind Northern Kentucky with a 33-29 victory over Johnstown Friday.
