CANTON, Ohio – The Ultimate Indoor Football League’s (UIFL) Director of Officials Mike Zyglis announced today (Tuesday, March 1, 2011) the penalties as a result of the physical altercation during Saturday’s UIFL game between the Northern Kentucky River Monsters and the Canton Cougars.
Three players and one assistant coach will be suspended one game and fine an undisclosed amount. All four participants were ejected from the game.
Northern Kentucky defensive end Luke Scarborough and assistant coach Doug Chavis will serve their one game suspension during Saturday’s game with the Johnstown Generals. The two Canton players – linebacker Roosevelt Benjamin and defensive back Harriel Moore – will serve their suspensions on when the Cougars travel to Johnstown on March 12.
The Ultimate Indoor Football League is a professional indoor football league with six teams in five states. The teams are places in Saginaw, Mich. (Saginaw Sting), Canton, Ohio (Canton Cougars), Johnstown, Pa. (Johnstown Generals), Highland Heights, Ky. (Northern Kentucky River Monsters), Pikeville, Ky. (Eastern Kentucky Drillers) and Huntington, WVa. (Huntington Hammer).
