As General Manager Steve Fickert walked out onto the turf for the first time at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena, he was smiling like the kid who got the pony for Christmas. “Coach” Fickert was heard to say, “This is a major step. We have had a lot of things working behind the scenes for so long, to really see this turf rolled out and to look around the arena and see all the possibilities starting to take shape is really exciting.” Walking around the concourse with Fickert, he pointed out places where local vendors could have booths, areas where games could be set up for the kids, places to hang signs and banners, and the excitement was contagious. The front office staff, coaches, and players now have something tangible to look at, to step onto, and to dream about.
With less than 9 weeks to go before the start of the season, things with the Huntington Hammer are kicking into high gear. For tickets, advertising, or other information call the office at 304-525-PASS (7277).
