The SFL has held a successful tryout at Ft. Lauderdale Stadium. There were several talented players. VP of Player Personnel, Bobby Thompson said that he was impressed at the quality of many of the players. The SFL is holding the next tryout on Feb. 13, 2011 at Municiple Stadium in Daytona Beach Florida.

The SFL management is scheduled to visit the Johnson Hagood stadium in Charleston South Carolina on Monday, Feb. 14, 2011. The SFL is working on expanding the leagues venues for the 2011 season. “The addition of a Charleston franchise would strengthen the Eastern division of the league and improve the competitiveness of all the teams”, league commissioner Peter Huthwaite declaired. “While the time is short, our franchise model is working and we are sure that we can organize the Charleston team in time for the start of the season”, Operations manager Charles Townsend, added. The SFL is holding tryouts every week in February. Players should check the Website

SFL Announces Appointment of Paul Smith as the Head Coach of the Mobile Gladiators
SFL president and League commissioner, Mr. Pete Huthwaite, speaking from the SFL Ft. Lauderdale office, announced the appointment of Mr. Paul Smith as the Head Coach for the Mobile Gladiators. Mr. Huthwaite said, “We are pleased to be able to acquire the services of a coach with the experience and background that Paul Smith brings to the Gladiator organization”. Coach Smith will be heading up the Mobile combine at Ladd Peebles Stadium on February 18, 2011.

Following up on the success of Sunday’s Tryout, the SFL has scheduled a player tryout for Daytona Beach on March 13, 2011, at 11:oo AM. Any players wishing to attend must signup on the Website and pay the registration fee of $95. The tryout fee will be $135 for players that do not register in advance. The Sunday tryout was well attended, and Head Coach Brown indicated that he was pleased with the spirited workout. One outstanding aspect was the capability of the three place kickers, which all made 51 yard feel goals, which are scored as 4 points in the SFL.

The SFL, continuing it a series of February tryouts, is heading to Mobile on Friday, February 18, 2011, at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, the home of the Senior Bowl. “The momentum is building,” noted SFL president Pete Huthwaite. “Each tryout gains better attendance and we are seeing more talanted players.” This weekend the SFL will tryout players in Mobile and New Orleans before traveling to Las Vegas on Feb. 26, 2011.

The SFL League President, Pete Huthwaite, announces the 1-2-3 rule after a touchdown. This refers to the conversion after a touchdown. A conversion by kicking is worth 1 point. A conversion scored by run or pass from the two yard line is worth 2 points. A conversion by run or pass from the 10 yard line will be worth 3 points. “These unique scoring features will make the games more exciting to our fans across the country.” said Pete Huthwaite.

SFL Officials to meet with Las Vegas Investment Group.
League officials of the SFL are meeting with a Las Vegas group of investers this week concerning the purchase of a team. The meetings are taking place when the SFL officials are in Las Vegas for their tryout on Feb. 26, 2011.

Dateline, Ft. Lauderdale Florida, Feb 20, 2011. During the last week, the SFL has been speaking with an investment group from California. This group is anxious to establish a team for the 2011 season. The SFL financial department is evaluating the budgetary considerations implied by establishing a team on the West Coast during the inaugural season of 2011.

SFL Prepares for the Establishment of West Coast Franchises.
The SFL is negotiating to establish West coast teams for the 2011 season. In preparation, the SFL is holding a combine/tryout on the UNLV campus in Las Vegas on Feb. 26, 2011.

The SFL is negotiating with investor groups that will support franchises on the West Coast for the 2011 season. This creates a need for more top quality players, as the number of teams will be increasing for the current season. The tryout will be held at the UNLV practice football field, located on the UNLV campus at 4505 Maryland, Las Vegas, NV.

Dateline: Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, March 7, 2011: SFL President, Pete Huthwaite, announced the appointment of Bobby Thompson as the interim head coach of the New Orleans Jazz Football Club. Bobby Thompson will continue to perform his normal duties as the VP of Pro Player Personnel for the SFL. “Coach Thompson brings a wealth of pro experience to the New Orleans Jazz Football Club.” Mr. Huthwaite exclaimed. Other coaching positions for the New Orleans Jazz will be announced at a later date.
