Wildcatters Form Partnership with Local Company LSM
LAFAYETTE, LA - The Lafayette Wildcatters have signed an agreement with the Lafayette Sports Management (LSM). LSM is currently operating the Louisiana IceGators of the Southern Professional Hockey League. Dave Berryman is the president of LSM and will be involved in the operations of each of these franchises. Berryman has spent time owning and managing minor league sports franchises in multiple leagues, and has had success with all of them. In 1996, he founded the Louisiana IceGators of the East Coast Hockey League. During the same year, Berryman was recognized as the ECHL's "Executive of the Year" and led the league in attendance averaging 11,443 fans per game (a record that still stand today). His success of attendance followed him when he went to Arkansas to found the first team in the arenafootball2 league. During the inaugural season his team, the Twisters, averaged 13,766 fans per game. The franchises he has managed has also seen success on the field as well. All of the teams he has been around were always contenders and in fact made it to the ArenaCup (af2 championship game) twice and won the division many times.
"I am excited about the opportunity to manage both of these franchises," replied Berryman when asked about his company LSM and the Wildcatters. "We are determined to bring the best sports entertainment to the area."
The Wildcatters return to the Dome in March for the 2011 season.
