Six players from the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks' inaugural team will return for the 2012 season.
Matt Cohen, Quinton Lopez, Chris Medina, Bryan Tarkington, Dom Stewart and Matt Angeloni have all signed on as members of this year's team, according to a news release.
Cohen, a Lehigh University and Central Catholic alum, returns to the Steelhawks at linebacker. After fighting a nagging injury throughout the 2011 season, Cohen looks to return to the lineup full-time.
Lopez, a former Pius X High School player, was the team's top wide receiver last year. He had 320 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. His height and speed are expected to be assets to the Steelhawks offense.
Medina, a former Kutztown University player, returns as a defensive/offensive lineman. He had five sacks, three forced fumbles and 45 tackles in 2011.
Tarkington, another defensive lineman, had 36 tackles and 2.5 sacks in five games last year.
Stewart plays as a defensive back or wide receiver. He had 310 yards and three touchdowns, as well as 12 tackles last year.
Angeloni is a returning wide receiver who played in seven games last season with the Steelhawks and had 160 yards and two touchdowns.
The Steelhawks also have acquired the rights to Jeff Willis, a wide receiver, from the Reading Express. Willis was one of the league's top receivers with 623 total yards and 16 touchdowns.
Season tickets are now available for the return of indoor football to Stabler Arena. For more information about tickets, call the Robert Wynn, director of ticket operations, at 610-282-3100 or email him at rwynn@lvsteelhawks.com.
