Richmond, VA: The Indoor Football League is proud to announce the Vidswap.com Players of the Week for Week 14 in the IFL. Each week the IFL selects three players, one from each phase of the game, offense, defense, and specials teams, whose play on the field stood out among the rest of the competition. The Week 14 Players of the week are listed as follows:
Offensive Player of the Week: Chris Dixon, QB, Sioux Falls Storm
Dixon is no stranger to this honor as in his career has lead the Billings Outlaws to two consecutive Championships 2009-10 and is working on leading his newly found home team to another in 2011. Dixon would put up remarkable numbers during week fourteen's campaign with 100% passing, 18-18 attempts with 7 touchdowns, and two rushes for 18 yards and a touchdown.
Defensive Player of the Week: Cornelius "Pig" Brown, DB, Omaha Beef
Pig Brown was surely a game changer in the Omaha Beef's past contest. As the Beef rattled through a back and forth game against the Slaughter the score would stay tight until the end. Brown had another idea as he intercepted two passes from the Slaughter late in the game to bring the score to 42-29 Beef. Not only did Pig seal the game for his team, his numbers were nothing to be shy about, registering 3 touchdowns (one from a lateral, 2 INTs), 3 interceptions, two of which changed the game to the Beef's favor.
Special Teams Players of the Week: Austin Smith, DB, Wenatchee Valley Venom
Austin Smith makes up a big part of the Wenatchee Venom's defensive/special scheme. Leading in tackles for the team this year, Smith seems to show up on every play. This weekend was no different as this DB proved himself totaling up 3 returns for 147 yards and two touchdowns from distances of both 50 and 52 yards and 3 tackles on defense.
