According to Orlando's web page, the Predators waived WR Gessner so that he could sign with the Seattle Seahawks. Does this mean that Orlando just waived him without compensation? If so, what a way to promote allowing your guys to move up. Keep in mind that Gessner had all-star potential (obviously Seattle saw something) and was a big target for those jump-balls in the endzone. . Does anyone know more about this waive and what the obligations or compensations were? With Ron Johnson (former NFL Raven), Gessner (current NFL Seahawk - in a couple days), and the amazing TT Toliver the Preds had a good 1, 2, 3 punch at WR. Now it's back to the practice squad.

I know the Bucs didn't want him a few years back or last year can't remember and that's probably how he ended up on the Preds roster.

I know the Bucs didn't want him a few years back or last year can't remember and that's probably how he ended up on the Preds roster. I was looking for more info about the waiver/compensation issue and certainly allowing the better players to move up is always topical here on IFF. . Also noted is the Guden brothers - coach of the NFL Bucks/coach of the AFL Preds have had a farm system for years. Gessner was not good enough to make the BUCs so he is recommended to the Preds. Likewise, the Bucs took the Preds best d-lineman too. . Now after training camps at the Patriots and Bucks as well as NFL EUROPE under his belt, he shined in the AFL. His size gives him an awkward 'gait'. At 6'5", he sure will get some jump balls.
