ALBANY, Ga. - Defending SIFL champion Columbus overcame an early 13-3 deficit as Chris McCoy threw five touchdown passes and rushed for two more in this key victory.
The Lions scored on seven consecutive drives to take a 44-30 third quarter lead. Columbus stretched the lead 52-36 later in the quarter when Gerald Gales caught his third touchdown of the games followed by a Trey Crum UNO.
Albany closed to 60-56 when Cecil Lester threw his sixth touchdown, a 9-yarder to Antwone Savage of the evening hitting Antwone Savage, but Columbus was able to run out the clock.
EXPLOSION 90, STEEL 79
ERIE, Pa. - In the highest scoring game in SIFL history, Adam DiMichele's 12 touchdown passes and Kevin Concepcion's seven touchdown catches set league records as Erie outlasted Trenton.
DiMichele finished with 400 yards passing and Concepcion caught 14 passes for 202 yards.
MAGIC 48, RUFF RIDERS 24
HIDALGO, Tex. -- John Taylor and Danny Young each scored two touchdowns as RGV held Abilene scoreless in the fourth quarter to pull away.
Leo Araguz kicked three field goals, an UNO and was 4-4 on PATs.
Kirt Griffin threw for 230 yards and two touchdowns to Coco Blalock in his Ruff Rider quarterback debut.

Eugene Goodman rushed for two Harrisburg scores and Brian Harris threw for 184 yards and a touchdown.
Cooter Arnold, Alex Love, CJ Washington scored on offense for the Speed, while Omar Bizzell returned an interception 49 yards.
Steel QB EJ Nemeth was responsible for 11 touchdowns, throwing for seven and rushing for four. Oderick Turner had 13 catches for 225 yards and five touchdowns.
