Vidswap.Com Week Eleven Players of the Week Announced
Richmond, Virginia: The Indoor Football League is proud to announce the Vidswap.com Players of the Week for Week Eleven in the IFL. Each week the IFL selects three players, one from each phase of the game, offense, defense, and specials teams, whose play on the field stood out among the rest of the competition. The Week Eleven Players of the week are listed as follows:
Offensive Player of the Week: Chris Malleo, QB, Reading Express
Malleo has been dominating the Atlantic division this year as his Reading Express moves to 6-3 on the season after his showing this weekend. The Express played host to a struggling Revolution team on Saturday, and were looking to add another win to the books. Malleo would put on a show of his own as he completed 18 of 23 passes for 206 yards and five touchdowns, as well as 10 rushes for 51 yards and a touchdown.
Defensive Player of the Week: The La Crosse Spartans
This is a first for the Vidswap.com Players of the Week as we recognize the entire defensive unit for the La Crosse Spartans as player of the week. The La Crosse Spartans defense would shut out the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks 51-0 this weekend, and for the first time in the IFL hold a team to zero points. All together, the Spartans defensive unit allowed only 144 yards of total offense as well as forced five turnovers (2 fumbles, 3 INT) and five sacks.
Special Teams Players of the Week: Chris Nendick, K, Chicago Slaughter
Our week eleven Special Teams Player of the Week goes to kicker Chris Nendick. Chris performed precise and accurate kicking this weekend against the Green Bay Blizzard as he went 5/5 on field goals with distances of 41, 41, 31, 41, and 17 yards. Nendick would also go 3-4 on extra point attempts for a total of 18 points and to top it off, kick the game winning 41 yard field goal in the final seconds to win 42-39.
