New Kids on the Block: Wranglers Announce New Ownership
ALLEN, TX-The Allen Wranglers announced their new ownership, Sunjack Football, LLC at a press conference on Thursday afternoon.
Jon Frankel serves as managing director of Sunjack Football. A business man at heart, Frankel has owned his own businesses since he was 18 years old; he is currently the owner and director of Sunjack Consulting. Sunjack is named after his 6-year-old son, Jack. Frankel and his wife Julie have been married for 13 years.
Frankel says football has always been a passion of his since he was a child. He has looked into purchasing indoor teams before, but never went through with the deal. With the Wranglers, things were different.
"I just thought the time was right and the opportunity was right to become part of the Wrangler organization," Frankel said.
He says his goal is to see a sustainable organization in the long haul and looks forward to learning the ins and the outs of every aspect. Frankel emphasizes that he is dedicated to the fan experience and hopes to see good things from the Wranglers in years to come.
"I'd like to make this the number one fan experience in the North Dallas area," he said. "I think that's a realistic goal for us. Obviously, we're in football country."
Frankel is joined in this endeavor by business partner Michael Wilson. Wilson was a five time All-American gymnast at the University of Oklahoma and the NCAA floor exercise champion in 1979. He also represented the United States in the 1980 Olympic Games as a member of the men's gymnastics team.
Wilson founded Healthcare Highways, LLC, in early 2010; the organization partners with hospitals and hospital systems to assist in building and managing high quality, low cost hospital directed networks. Wilson also owns Corporate Health Plans of America, Inc. and Century Healthcare, LLC; his resume also includes former ownership of Equitable Plan Services, Inc., PPO Oklahoma and Texas True Choice, Inc.
