Here is another one from April 2nd. It's a nice write-up.

In the aftermath of its dress rehearsal, the East Texas Wranglers football team will be looking to increase its production in execution on the field, and fans in the stands.
The Wranglers will play their first-ever game today, hosting the North Texas Broncos in an Independent Indoor Football Alliance game at the Longview Rodeo Arena, an outdoor arena. The game begins at 5 p.m., getting moved back from the original start of 3 p.m. in order to avoid potentially warm conditions which head coach Corey Mayfield said affected his team in its exhibition against the North Texas Crunch last week.
All things considered, it wasn’t a bad prelude for the Wranglers last week, although they dropped a 75-66 decision to the Crunch, the three-time defending IIFA champions. Mayfield said his team showed unusual toughness in the circumstances.
“It was the first time we were in football pads this season. We’re not in the shape we need to be,” Mayfield said. “I like the intensity of these guys.”
The current roster of the Wranglers include four local products, led by defensive back Dontay Richardson, a former Longview Lobo. Also competing is receiver Blake Warren, who played at Arp, as well as a pair of former Kilgore College Rangers: receiver/cornerback Tony Burnett and receiver/cornerback Jamon Hawkins.
While the Wranglers were able to score points against the Crunch, more chances got away as the Crunch picked off six passes, returning two for touchdowns. Terrance Parks will be the starting quarterback for the Wranglers.
“We need to have better execution from our quarterback position,” Mayfield said. “Our special teams have to pick it up too.”
Meanwhile off the field, Wranglers owner/general manager Rubin Beckner said he had hoped for better attendance for the scrimmage.
To improve numbers, the Wranglers traveled to 15 area high schools this week — including Longview, Pine Tree, Spring Hill and Kilgore — and handed out 100 complimentary tickets each.
“I’m really hoping to reach our goal of 5,000 spectators,” Beckner said.
Other fans can get tickets at reduced prices and help charitable causes as well as the Wranglers will be taking canned-food donations. A fan bringing two cans of food will receive a $5 discount on a ticket, $2 with one can. The food will be donated to the Highway 80 Rescue Mission and the East Texas Food Bank.
The Wranglers will play their first three games at home, taking on the Dallas Americans on April 10.
