(RICHMOND)- The Richmond Raiders announce that they have signed former William & Mary and AFL quarterback Mike Potts to a SIFL contract. Potts replaces Raider quarterbacks Bryan Randall and Robbie Jenkins; both out with season-ending injuries. Potts graduated from William & Mary in 2008 and was signed as a free agent with the Pittsburgh Steelers. In 2009 Potts played for the Manchester Wolves (AF2) before playing his way into the AFL in 2009 with the Tulsa Talons. He began the 2010 season as the starting Quarterback of the Tampa Bay Storm in the AFL but was released after two starts. He joins first place Richmond (4-1) for their away game against conference rival Erie (4-1) this Saturday. He is expected to compete immediately for the starting job with Aaron Alexander.
The Richmond Raiders continue their 2011 home schedule May 7 against the Erie Explosion at 7 pm. It will be Local Attraction Night presented by Colonial Downs. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Raider Ticket Hotline at 804-780-0430 or at ticketmaster.com.

wow great signing. When you can sign an NFL prospect in indoor ball, that never can hurt the team
