(Independent Indoor Football Alliance, Forney, TX) The IIFA will kick-off their 4th season of play with seven teams: East Texas Wranglers out of Longview, TX (www.easttexaswranglers.com), North Texas Crunch out of The Colony, TX (www.crunchfootball.net), Texas Pirates out of Houston, TX (www.texaspiratespif.com), Southlake Pirates out of Southlake, TX http://www.southlakepirates.com), Waco Twisters out of Waco, TX (www.hometeamsonline.comWACOTWISTERS), North Texas Broncos out of Allen, TX (www.northtexasbroncos.com) and Texas Krush out of North Richland Hill, TX (www.leaguelineup.com/krush). The Conroe Jaguars out of Conroe, TX Conroe, TX (www.conroejaguarsfootball.com) and San Antonio Lobos out of San Antonio, Texas will be participating in the IIFA 2012. The IIFA has made several changes to their schedule due to some problems with some teams.
San Antonio Lobos out of San Antonio, Texas were also schedule to start the 2011 season in the IIFA. But the owner of the Lobos owner another sports franchise so decided work on that one first because he has had it for over six years. They will also be back in the IIFA in 2011.
First the Conroe Jaguars were schedule to start the 2011 season in the IIFA after playing the IIFA all-stars and the North Texas Crunch in 2010. The owner of the Jaguars had a major event happen in his and his family lives which couldn’t be placed on hold. So they will return to the IIFA in 2011.
The Dallas Americans a independent football team contacted the IIFA about joining the league. The Americans were approved and was put on the IIFA 2011 schedule. The Americans played the first game in the IIFA against the East Texas Wranglers and were beaten 74-12. Than they forfeited their second game in the IIFA against the North Texas Crunch. The Americans decided that the IIFA wasn’t the league for them.
Final the Waco Twisters from Waco Texas stepped upped and joined the IIFA for the 2011 season. The Twisters will be headed by Jackie Warren who coached the Corsicana Thunder in the IIFA back in 2008. He leaded the Thunder to 4 and 5 record and a play-off spot. Mr. Warren than resigned as head coach so he could come out of retirement to play for the Austin Turfcats and the West Texas Roughnecks. The Twisters open up their 2011 season traveling to Houston to play the Texas Pirates on April 23rd 2011.
