CANTON, OH - The Northern Kentucky River Monsters indoor football organization is pleased to announce for the second straight week, two River Monsters have earned Ultimate Indoor Football League's (UIFL) weekly honor.
For the third consecutive week, quarterback Jared Lorenzen earned the league's offensive Player of the Week award. The left-handed signal caller tied his own UIFL single-game record with nine touchdowns passes in NKY's victory over Canton. He is currently leading the league in passing (255.1 yards per game) and touchdowns (47).
Kicker Dustin Zink is proving to be one of the best kickers in the UIFL. The Thomas More/Newport Central Catholic product was 11-for-11 on extra points and recorded his league-high fifth UNO. He has converted 92.4 percent (61-of-66) of his extra-points this season. It's the third time Zink has earned the special teams award.
The River Monsters (6-1) look to avenge its only loss of the season in the "Battle of the Bluegrass II" when Eastern Kentucky visits the Bank of Kentucky Center 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The Drillers upended Northern Kentucky 60-33 on March 12.
The organization is offering free youth (12 and under) admission with the purchase of an adult ticket.
