STEEL, EXPLOSION WILL PLAY WITH ASSIST FROM HARRISBURG
TRENTON - The Trenton Steel Indoor Football Team hoped to unveil its custom-made indoor field at its home-opener Saturday night at the Sun National Bank Center. Unfortunately, that will not be the case.
Circumstances beyond the team’s control, along with the fact certain components of the field have to be imported and have not yet arrived in the United States, delayed delivery.
However, thanks to the good will of the Harrisburg Stampede, a fellow member of the Southern Indoor Football League and future Trenton opponent, the Steel and Explosion will not miss a beat.
“We certainly hoped to have our field, which we feel has a very special look, in place for our home-opener, but, given the situation, we hope to have it by our third home game,’’ said Steel general manager Rich Lisk.
“The Steel organization wishes to thank our friends in Harrisburg for their outstanding assistance in this matter.’’
Tickets are still available for the Steel’s home-opener, which will kick off at 7:05 p.m. Saturday. Fans can call the Steel offices at 609-656-3300 or order on the team’s Web site at www.trentonsteel.com. Tickets are also available by phone, at the Sun National Bank Center ticket windows, or on-line at www.comcasttix.com

What ever happened to the field and dasher boards that the NJ Revolution of the AIFA used last season and which is the same field which was transported to the Sun Bank Arena in Trenton, NJ, Steel home, for the AIFA Showcase game between NJ Reves and Harrisburg Stampede. Rumor had it there seemed to be an issue over the ownership of the field and John Morris, former AIFA owner and Harrisburg Stampede owner, some how comendered the field. Last I heard it was still in Trenton and the LFL philadelphia passion used it for their field. Anyone have any knowledge of what happened to the Revs field? It was distinct because all the black dashers had ads from New England on them. It was a good field and quality dashers from Kodiac Sports, I believe. Just Curious.
