Amarillo, TX 3/24/11 - The Amarillo Venom is pleased to announce they will be offering a free Candy Coburn concert following their game on April 2nd against the Allen Wranglers.
Coburn is a country star on the rise and is widely known for her song Pink Warrior, which is about a woman battling breast cancer. Coburn, who is an ambassador of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, will perform immediately following the Venom game at the Amarillo Civic Center.
"We are thrilled that Candy Coburn will be singing in Amarillo," said Lizzie Mason, Amarillo's Susan G. Komen for the Cure Board President. "As a Komen ambassador, she is helping us spread the life saving message of early detection to assist in ridding the world of breast concert. We're looking forward to a great game and entertaining concert."
This event would not have been possible without some help according to Michelle McFadden, the Venom's Box Office Manager.
"We were able to work with a couple of our sponsors to make this happen," said McFadden. "I would especially like to thank Budweiser for their contribution to this event."
The Venom is encouraging fans to "Think Pink" for the April 2nd game in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness and ladies that wear pink to the game will get in free. To stay with the theme of Breast Cancer Awareness, Coburn will sing the National Anthem and will be an honorary captain along with Lisa Davis, Executive Director of the Amarillo Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
"We wanted to do something to recognize and honor all of the women that are affected by this deadly disease," said McFadden. "I am excited about the game and the concert. Our fans are in for a real treat April 2nd."
