Richmond, VA: The IFL is excited to present another riveting episode of "This Week in the IFL". The sixth episode will be airing on Thursday, March 24, 2011.
For "This Week in the IFL," Denis Puska will be speaking to Amarillo Venom's Joe Morgado, General Manager, and Rodney Blackshear, Head Coach, Mike McCoy, General Manager of the Nebraska Danger as well as, the special teams player of the week, B.J. Hill, defensive back/kick returner for the Green Bay Blizzard. Puska and his four guests will provide the audience with an insightful view of the IFL from the prospective of player, coach, and general manager while analyzing the previous week of play, and making predictions for Week 6 of the 2011 IFL Season.
Joe Morgado
The 2011 season for the IFL, marks Joe Morgado's second season as the General Manager for the Amarillo Venom. Morgado began his tenure with the Amarillo Venom in January of 2010. Prior to joining the Indoor Football League and the Amarillo Venom, Morgado was the General Manager for the Amarillo Dusters for two and a half years and the Florida Firecats for five years, both teams from Arena Football. Morgado brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Amarillo Venom.
Rodney Blackshear
Rodney Blackshear has embarked on his 6th season of coaching indoor football as the head coach of the Amarillo Venom; however, before indoor football, Blackshear was involved in collegiate coaching. Blackshear started as a Graduate Assistant Coach at Texas Tech University, then Wide Receivers Coach at the University of Houston. After coaching at the college level, Blackshear moved to indoor football, within the Indoor Football League, Intense Football League, and the AF2, where he was the head coach for the South Georgia Wildcats, Lubbock Renegades, Centex Barracudas, and the Abilene Rough Riders.
B.J. Hill
B.J. Hill of the Green Bay Blizzard was named the Special Teams Player of the Week for his stellar performance against the Bloomington Extreme in Week 5. Hill returned two kickoffs for touchdowns, both runs nearly stretched coast to coast at 49 and 46 yards. As if the two kickoff returns were not enough, Hill also returned two field goal attempts for touchdowns, which helped the Green Bay Blizzard serve the Bloomington Extreme with their first loss of the season. It is no surprise that Hill is having such success in the IFL; in 2008 at Ball State University, Hill recorded 77 tackles (54 were solo), 3 interceptions and forced fumbles, returned 35 punts for 229 yards, and 10 kicks for 260 yards.
Mike McCoy
Mike joined the Danger in its inaugural year coming from the well known Wichita Wild. As the Nebraska Danger start its first season of professional indoor football, Puska will be discussing with Mike the areas reaction to the new team, as well as some of the current operations of the Danger.
