HUNSTVILLE, Ala. - Defending champion Columbus forced eight Alabama turnovers, converting three into scores as the Lions downed the Hammers.
Columbus scored the first 12 points on fumble recoveries by Ryan Babb and Justin Rivers. Damiam Daniels added a fourth-quarter interception return.
Chris McCoy threw for 228 yards and six touchdowns - three to Maurice Dupree - and ran for another for Columbus Bill Ashburn had two touchdown passes for Alabama.
RUFF RIDERS 83, HAMMERHEADS 27
ABILENE, Tex. - Joe Brannen threw six touchdown passes and rushed for two scores as the Ruff Riders jumped out to a 30-0 first quarter lead en route to a blowout victory over Corpus Christi.
Brannen was 25 of 46 for 240 yards. Coco Blalock caught three touchdown passes, while Juan Reese had 10 catches for 111 yards and two scores. Robert Spells added two touchdowns.
Abilene, which set a franchise records for points, led 54-14 at halftime.
Anthony Andre threw two touchdowns for Corpus Christi.
PANTHERS 30, SWASHBUCKLERS 27
ALBANY, Ga. - Wes Vergilio's 39-yard field goal as time expired culminated a 20-point comeback for Albany over Louisiana.
The Swashbucklers led 27-7 at halftime, but were held scoreless in the second half. Albany tied the game on an 8-yard pass from Cecil Lester to Aaron Wheeler with 11:53 remaining.
Lester was 10 of 18 for 81 yards and three Panther touchdowns.
Sammy Knight had seven catches for 121 yards and two touchdowns for the Swashbucklers.
RAIDERS 59, STEEL 56
RICHMOND, Va. - Bryan Randall threw for 285 yards and seven touchdowns as Richmond outlasted Trenton.
The Steel led 48-45 on an E.J. Nemeth's 1-yard run with 7:35 left, but Richmond regained the lead when Randall hit Rodney Landers for an 8-yard score, then Aaron Alexander threw a touchdown pass after a Raider defensive stop.
Damon Thompson caught eight passes for 136 yards and four touchdowns for Richmond.
Nemeth threw three touchdown passes and rushed for two more in the Steel's debut.

STALLIONS 52, MAGIC 20
CORPUS CHRISTI, Tex. - Robert Kent threw five touchdown passes as the Houston Stallions jumped out a 21-0 lead en route to a easy victory over the Magic.
Kenyada Tatum and Timon Marshall each caught two scores, Robert Kent rushed for two and Carlos Alsup rushed for one and caught another. Archie Reed had two interceptions on defense.
Billy Garza threw for 125 yards and a score for Rio Grande Valley.
EXPLOSION 46, STAMPEDE 25
HARRISBURG -- Trumaine Riley caught three of Adam DiMichele's five touchdown passes as the Explosion pulled away to a road victory in Harrisburg.
Riley finished with nine catches for 143 yards. DiMichelle was 18 of 34 for 239 yards.
Leading 7-4 after the first quarter, Erie scored 11 points in the second quarter for an 18-4 halftime lead. Harrisburg closed to one touchdown twice in the second half.
Andre Coles rushed for two Stampede touchdowns.
