HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, KY - The Northern Kentucky River Monsters indoor football organization is joining forces with the Cincinnati Red Cross to assist with their efforts locally and specifically in Japan.
The team will be accepting monetary donations during their home opener Saturday against Johnstown at the Bank of Kentucky Center. In addition, the team will be accepting non-perishable food for their game on March 28.
All fans that bring at least two non-perishable items will receive $1 off game admission for the game against Canton.
The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers, that provides relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. The goal of the American Red Cross is to ensure nationwide disaster planning, preparedness, community disaster education, mitigation and response that will provide the community with quality services.
The Northern Kentucky River Monsters are inaugural members of the six-team Ultimate Indoor Football League. The River Monsters, a professional indoor/arena football team, play their home football games at the Bank of Kentucky Center on the campus of Northern Kentucky University.
