Richmond, Virginia: The Indoor Football League is proud to announce the Vidswap.com Players of the Week for Week Three in the IFL. Each week the IFL selects three players, one from each phase of the game, offense, defense, and specials teams, whose play on the field stood out among the rest of the competition. The Week Three Players of the week are listed as follows:
Offensive Player of the Week: Oliver Young, WR, Tri-Cities Fever
As seen on our top ten plays in week three, Oliver Young made an outstanding impact on the game against Wenatchee for Tri-Cities. Young had 4 touchdowns and 8 catches for 145 yards, placing himself in a class above the rest in week three.
Defensive Player of the Week: Johnathon Kowalyshan, DL, Chicago Slaughter
Johnathon Kowalyshan proved to be trouble for QBs around the league in his performance against the Express. Kowalyshan brought down a very illusive Reading QB 4 times for a sack, and reeled in 4.5 tackles on the night. OL and QBs alike will need to keep a keen eye on this DL when entering Slaughter territory.
Special Teams Player of the Week: Chris Medina, DL, Lehigh Valley Steelhawks
Medina put on a show in the specials teams genre on Saturday against the Revolution. Medina blocked three kicks in this contest, keeping two extra points and a field goal off of the board. Not only was Medina showing his skills on special teams, he also tallied up a sack, forced fumble, fumble recovery, and 5 tackles.
The Indoor Football League was created in 2008 from a merger between the Intense Football League and United Indoor Football Association. It consists of 26 teams (22 active, 4 dormant) located across the United States from Alaska to Richmond, VA.
