Bethlehem, PA: When the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks take the field in Richmond, Virginia this weekend to face the defending Atlantic Division Champion Revolution, a win on the field won't be the only thing the two teams are playing for. Steelhawks Executive Vice President and General Manager Mike Clark and Revolution General Manager Charlie Hildbold added a little fuel to the fire today by announcing a friendly wager for the outcome of the game. If the Steelhawks win the contest this weekend, Clark will get the opportunity to pie Hildbold in the face at mid-field during the pre-game festivities at the Steelhawks Home Opener on March 19th. If the Rev's win, the same applies in reverse.
"Charlie has been a good friend of mine since my time in the league office when he was appointed to his position with the Revolution in 2009," stated Clark. "I can't lie and say I won't be nervous during the game this weekend thinking ahead to the 19th, but I have full confidence that my boys will help their GM save face in front of our home crowd. Charlie and I both know it'll be a knock down, drag out battle between our teams, and this will just spice it up for all the IFL fans."
Both teams are coming off an opening week loss and look to right the ship against their divisional opponent. The Steelhawks fell 33-26 to the Reading Express while the Revolution were downed by the Bloomington Extreme 44-6.
Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m. at the Revolution's SportsQuest Complex and will mark the team's first outdoor-indoor football game.
