owners who don't care about the players by not paying them on time, shorting them on game checks, not paying coaches, not paying bills such as venue rent, putting the organization and fans in bad situations, high player turnover rate making it difficult to develop a good deal of team chemistry in some instances, breaking the pay rules by paying some players WAYYY more than what the league is supposed to allow Hmmmm some of those sound REALLY familiar!

The difference in this case is--the APFL doesn't lie about what it is. The IFL does.

Right. Every league has its flaws. Paying players way too much? Welcome to the world of indoor football. If you look across the league, like I said in an earlier post, "the teams with the best players, pay the most." Happened in AF2, happens in the IFL, it still happens in a1. That's just part of the game, some teams pay, others don't. Some teams buy championships. That's just the way the cookie crumbles. You're right some owners don't care for their players, some do. But the IFL DOES have the right idea, I just think they should be more PICKY about cities in which they allow teams, and ownership groups they allow to take over. For instance, look at the lonestar league this year. Those teams play each other a total of 3 a piece, making 9 games, I'd say that's pretty good for regional play. Farthest drive is 5 1/2 hours, in division play. Where they drop the ball is with Fairbanks. No offense, but that's a lot of money to get a team up there to play. Anyways, I'll stop rambling. Should be a fun APFL season.

First off CF4L, Tonga wasn't cut from Omaha, he chose to leave based on the needs/demands of his full time job and family. In fact, he was asked several times to stay and was offered limited practice time so he could manage work, family and football. Because Tonga is the stand up, character guy he is, he didn't feel that was fair to the Omaha Beef players or coaches. Try driving 200 miles every night to practice and get up at 4:30 am the next morning for work, it is not easy. So please don't demean Tonga for doing what was best for himself and his family. Secondly, doesn't every one that gets cut from the Beef end up playing for the Blackhawks?
At 23 years old CF4L, you talk a lot of trash to a well established Linebacker. Tonga's paid the price and works hard in the off season to maintain the type of player he has proven to be for the past 7 years. So, here's my suggestion, take your trash talking to the field and prove you deserve the right to talk it. I¡¦m excited for this season. There's no doubt that the greatest teams have consistency on the coaching staff and rosters, but I really feel Bob Scott, along with the coaches have put a lot of time into building a great team. BUT that will all be determined when season starts. 30 sacks for Tonga might be on the high side but I can promise you that he'll be ready for whatever it may be you have in store. Stop obsessing over Tonga and Jensen and start worrying about the whole Bandits team and what you and your teams can do to stop them. Good Luck to all and GO BANDITS!

I am Tonga's #1 Fan... always will be. It gets really old having people talk trash about him when he has obviously proven himself year after year. It's funny that the ones talking trash do so behind a message board but are probably the ones that will be the nicest to him face to face. He left Sioux City for Omaha for a change of pace and when he realized the strain it put on his family life, it wasn't worth it to him. Funny thing is the trash talk bothers me more than him becuase he uses it as motivation to work harder. So I should probably thank all the haters for giving him the motivation to be as great as he always has been.

if anyone didn't see I was joking, then sorry. Clearly a joke. I even put a smilie after my post.
Tonga is great, has been for as long as I can remember and I've been watching indoor football for about half of my life (at 23 years old!).
Heck, I think Tonga was even on the team when the Capitols posted that 20-0 shut out of the Bandits in Sioux City, wasn't he?
BLZ, you remember that one right?

Some of the best (and worst) times I've had watching indoor football have come from player interaction. Its part of the game. I do my best to get into the opponent's heads some before and during the game, but I ALWAYS shake their hands and tell them good game win or lose afterwards. I don't pretend that I am capable of playing indoor football, but I sure as hell enjoy watching it.
