Green Bay, WI: The Green Bay Blizzard are proud to announce that they will be hosting the Wisconsin All-Stars for an exhibition scrimmage on Tuesday, February 22nd starting at 7:30pm in the Brown County Arena. Gates will open at 6:30pm and this event is open to the public. Fans will get a sneak preview of the 2011 team and will get to meet the players. The Blizzard will also preview some of the new clothing and merchandise to be featured for the upcoming season.
Season ticket holders are encouraged to pick up their season tickets the night of the event. The Blizzard will be holding a Season Ticket Holder special in which each season ticket holder who attends the scrimmage and picks up their tickets will receive a 2011 Blizzard pennant. Season ticket holders must attend the scrimmage to receive the pennant and is limited to one pennant per season ticket holder.
The Wisconsin All-Stars are comprised of the areas best semi-pro athletes and will give the Blizzard a good preseason warm-up. Blizzard Head Coach Rik Richards commented, "Knowing the reputation of the Wisconsin All-Stars and the talent that they have been recruiting, we will have a good opponent to test our players and be able to evaluate them before making final cuts for the IFL season."
The Blizzard home opener will be Friday March 18th against conference rival Bloomington Extreme. Gates will open at 6:30pm with kickoff coming at 7:30pm. The first 2,000 fans, 21 and older through the doors of the Resch Center, will receive a Kelly Green Blizzard hat courtesy of Bud Light. March 18th will also be the first Bud Light Fun Night of the season with green beer in honor of St. Patrick's Day.
