TRENTON, NJ (January 18, 2011) - The Trenton Steel announced today the addition of wide receiver Preston Brown (6'4", 230, Tulane) to the 2011 season. "Preston is a big target with huge play-making abilities," said head coach Jeff Hoffman, "He will be a great asset to our offense and I'm excited to get him on the field."
Before signing with the Steel, Brown attended two NFL workouts with the Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets in 2007 and signed with various other arena teams after completing a very impressive college career.
Brown started his collegiate ball as a special teams player and was voted "Player of the Year" during his sophomore year by all of his fellow players and coaches. Between 2006 and 2007, as team captain, Brown put up a total of 91 catches for 1,187 yards and 8 touchdowns. Trenton is hoping the former Tulane number one receiver will bring the same enthusiasm and skill to the field here.
The Trenton Steel will kick off their inaugural season in the SIFL in March 2011 and will play all of their home games at the Sun National Bank Center in Trenton, NJ. Tickets packages for the team's premiere season are now available with season tickets available for as low as $60.00.
