(Independent Indoor Football Alliance, Forney, TX) On January 15, 2011 the IIFA hosted the Ultimate Indoor Football Open Tryout in DeSoto, Texas. The tryout had teams from AFL, AIFA West, IFL and IIFA. Players came from as far as London England that’s right the UK and close as Dallas/Ft Worth to show off their talents to the teams. The North Texas Crunch, Southlake Pirates and Texas Krush all signed players from the tryout. But both the Crunch and Pirates also lost players to. The Crunch had their first player of the 2011 season and the 18th players in Crunch four years of playing Indoor Football to move up. Darrian Billups a 6’ 4” 310 lbs Offensive Lineman from Langston University and two year started for the Crunch was signed Amarillo Venom of the Indoor Football League (IFL). Amarillo Head Coach Rodney Blackshear stated “Darrian was arguably the best offensive lineman at the tryout showing great feet and strong at the point of attack”. The Pirates had their first player of the 2011 season and the 5th players in Pirates (Doom) four years of playing Indoor Football to move up. Derrek Wageneck a 5’ 10” 230 lbs Linebacker and 2010 IIFA Defensive player also signed Amarillo Venom of the Indoor Football League (IFL). Amarillo Head Coach Rodney Blackshear stated “Derrek has a nose for the ball and gets there with bad intentions”. Attachments:
