Reading Express Hosting Final Open Tryout for 2011 Team

Reading, Pa. (January 12, 2011) - The Reading Express indoor pro football team will be hosting its third and final open tryout as the organization prepares for the 2011 Indoor Football League (IFL) season. The tryout will be held this Saturday at the Sinking Spring Family YMCA in Sinking Spring, Pa.

When: Saturday, January 15th Registration: 11:00 a.m. Tryout: 12:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Where: Sinking Spring Family YMCA 4920 Penn Avenue Sinking Spring, PA 19608
Who: Reading Express Personnel Head Coach Chris Thompson and assistant coaches Mark Steinmeyer, Kenny Miller and Bill Sellars will be available for interviews when time permits. Owner Ted Lavender, General Manager Tim Glase and Peak Performance Coach & Team Builder Larry Bonino will also be available.
The 2011 campaign will mark the Express' first season in the IFL. The move to the bigger league has already had a big impact on recruiting top talent to play for the Reading team. Several players with NCAA Division I experience have a shot at making the team this season, in addition to top talent from area colleges and universities.
Saturday's tryout is one last opportunity for the Express coaching staff to assess and evaluate new talent before setting the training camp roster. Under IFL rules, the Express are allowed to invite up to 45 players to camp, which starts February 12.
By the time the season kicks off on Saturday, February 26, the roster needs to be cut to 30 players. Twenty-one of those players are allowed to be dress for the games.
Reading Express Indoor Professional Football will begin the 2011 season on Saturday, February 26, at Sovereign Center against the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks. Tickets are now on sale at www.expressindoorfootball.com, or you can call 610.372.PASS (7277) to order.
The Reading Express are one of the most established franchises in indoor football. In five seasons, the team has amassed an overall record of 64-20 with four playoff appearances, two conference titles and the 2009 AIFA National Championship. In 2011, Reading will begin play as a new member of the Indoor Football League.
