BLOOMINGTON (Ill.) - The Bloomington Extreme Indoor Football Team is pleased to announce the signings of Defensive Back, Michael McGee and Wide Receiver, Walter Peoples for the 2011 season.
Micheal McGee, 5'11" 90 lbs., Defensive Back from the University of Southern Mississippi has signed a contract to play for the Extreme in 2011. McGee played in 40 games as a cornerback and strong safety at Southern Miss, including 2 bowl games (2007 Papa John's Bowl and 2008 New Orleans Bowl). During his time at Southern Miss, McGee compiled 66 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 2 defensive touchdowns. McGee had a key blocked kick to help Southern Miss seal the win in the 2008 New Orleans Bowl.
Walter Peoples, 6'2" 210 lbs. - Wide Receiver from Southeast Missouri State, will join the Extreme in 2011. Peoples spent parts of the 2010 season as a member of the Tri-Cities Fever (IFL) following a career at Southeast Missouri State where he scored 10 touchdowns on 108 receptions, good for 1,369 receiving yards and 145 rushing yards. Peoples was a member of the 2008 All-Ohio Valley Conference 2nd Team.
"Walter has outstanding athleticism and work ethic," states Head Coach Mike Murray. "Michael is an amazing athlete that can play any position in the defensive secondary. Walter and Michael bring a lot to our football team and are great young men."
With these two signings, the Extreme roster now stands at 34 players announced as part of the 2011 training camp roster. IFL training camp rosters consist of 45 players.
The Bloomington Extreme will open training camp Sunday, February 13, 2011 and kick off the season two weeks later, Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum against the Richmond Revolution with a 3:05 pm start time.
