CANTON, OH - The Canton Cougars professional football team is pleased to announce an affiliate agreement with the Cleveland Saints Semi-Professional football team. The Cleveland Saints are now the official farm team of the Canton Cougars.“Our goal is to win the UIFL championship. With our new relationship with the Cleveland Saints, we are able to have a pool of players in game shape and ready to move up if needed at a moment’s notice. With a 15 week season, we’ll go through players, some due to injuries, and some due to lack of productivity. The Saints will be able to help make sure we do not miss a beat.” Said Canton Cougars CEO Andrew Haines.
“We are extremely proud to announce our affiliation with the Canton Cougars of the UIFL and pleased to be able to expand the opportunities available for our players. Our players play for the love of the game, they play the right way, full out and for their fans. I know we have players that can help the Canton Cougars achieve their goal of a UIFL championship. We are excited about working with the excellent football operation of the Canton Cougars.” Johnathan Allen CEO and Founder of the Cleveland Saints
As part of the agreement, the Saints coaching staff, and ownership will be attending some Canton Cougars practices, tryouts, and other events. The Cougars will also send players to the Saints who need more time to develop their skills.
