Continental Indoor Football League: A new indoor football team called the Grand Rapids Fury is holding tryouts and is expected to be announced as a member of the CIFL for the 2011 season. The city was home to the West Michigan ThunderHawks in the 2010 season of the Indoor Football League, but that team will not be part of the 2011 IFL season.
Indoor Championship Football League: The proposed ICFL is a developmental semi-pro league that plans to start play in April 2012. The league currently has three teams listed: the Delmarva Bayraiders, Virginia Spartans, and Metro Nemesis (Washington, DC). All league games will be played at the Freestate Sports Arena in White Marsh (MD). A team called the Delmarva Bayraiders had been part of the proposed Premier Indoor Football League, which never got off the ground for the 2010 season, and played four 2010 games as part of the Regional Indoor Football League.
