Nowotarski, Harrisburg Stampede Participate in Pro Combine
HARRISBURG, PA (December 6, 2010) - Harrisburg Stampede General Manager and Head Coach Bernie Nowotarski and other members of the Stampede staff participated in a Pro Combine on Saturday, December 4th in Baltimore, Maryland.
The combine was attended by teams from the Arena Football League (AFL) and Canadian Football League (CFL), Indoor Football League (IFL), Southern Indoor Football League (SIFL), and Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL), as well as, a professional team from Denmark.
The combine held by GridIron Placement Services provided 50 players the opportunity to receive a thorough evaluation from representatives from the Stampede, Erie Explosion, and Richmond Raiders of the SIFL, the Philadelphia Soul and Tulsa Talons of the AFL, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the CFL, the AaB 89ers professional team from Denmark, and several teams from the IFL and UIFL.
Mike Trott of GridIron Placement Services commented, "I was very pleased with how the combine went overall. We had a great group of players that showed talent and enthusiasm throughout the day. The coaches did a wonderful job interacting and being hands on putting the players through their testing and drills. So far all the feedback from players and coaches has been outstanding. To have so many teams from so many leagues at one location scouting is pretty much unheard of. I'm glad we were able to give the players in attendance a platform to showcase their skills."
"I was honored Mike asked me to participate in the combine. It was great to be on the field with some of my close coaching friends from our league like Chris [Simpson] and Shawn [Liotta]. I got to see some old coaching friends, and as well, meet the AFL, CFL, IFL, UIFL and European coaches in person versus the phoning and texting we do with one another," said Nowotarski.
