Green Bay, WI: The Green Bay Blizzard are serious about being legitimate contenders in 2011 with the signing of two marquee players. The Green Bay Blizzard and Head Coach Rik Richards are pleased to announce the signing of two defensive backs from Texas A&M University. Arkeith Brown is a 6'0" Cornerback and Alton Dixon is a 5'11" Safety. Both Brown and Dixon combine to see action in over 100 career games and played under former Packer coach Mike Sherman for two years.
Coach Richards said "To get two quality defensive backs like Dixon and Brown who have played in over one hundred Big 12 games and for former Packer coach Sherman should bode well for making us a better defense in 2011"
DB Arkeith Brown (6'0" 174lbs.) In May of 2008, Arkeith Brown was signed as a rookie free agent defensive back by the New Orleans Saints. Dixon saw action in at least 11 games in all four years at Texas A&M. During his college career at Texas A&M, as a junior in 2007, Brown Posted 51 tackles while seeing action in all 13 games. He started the last six games registering 30 tackles over that span and led the team by breaking up eight passes. Brown notched a career high 11 tackles against Kansas. Browns sophomore season saw him as the Aggies' top pass defender off the bench with four passes broken up and 21 tackles. He started two games while seeing action in every game and posted three pass break ups in his starting debut while covering NFL prospect Jonathan Holland of Louisiana. One of nine true freshmen to see action for the Aggies, Brown was a mainstay on a variety of special teams units and saw limited action in the defensive secondary. Brown made 13 tackles, including nine solo stops, in 11 games of action. Brown majored in agricultural leadership and development.
DB Alton Dixon (5'11" 197lbs.) Alton Dixon's career saw him play in no fewer than 11 games in a single season at Texas A&M. As a junior in 2007 Dixon played all 13 games and started 11 in the Aggies' secondary where he ranked fourth on the team with 77 tackles including 27 solo stops. He posted double-digit tackle games against Montana State (10) and Oklahoma State (12). Dixon is a hard hitting safety who also recorded two sacks, five tackles for loss, forced a pair of fumbles and recovered three more. As a freshman in 2005, Dixon Earned a prominent role in the Aggies' defensive secondary rotation as a true freshman by posting 22 tackles, including 11 solo hits, while seeing action in all 11 games. Dixon had a degree in agricultural and life sciences.

This past weekend marked the first time since 1998 that Texas A&M were Big 12 South Champions. It was Mike Sherman's first conference title as a collegiate head coach, after winning three NFC North titles (2002, 2003, and 2004) as the Executive Vice President/General Manager/Head Coach of the Green Bay Packers. Sherman also served as offensive line coach on three Texas A&M squads that won Southwest Conference crowns (1991, 1992, 1993).
The Green Bay Blizzard is proud members of the Indoor Football League (IFL). The reigning Central North Division Champions play all home games at the Resch Center in Green Bay, WI.
