INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIP FOOTBALL LEAGUE PUSHES BACK START DATE TO DEC OF 2011
First we would like to thank everyone for the many inquires we have received about our league. One of the things that were brought to our attention was that a lot of the teams that are showing interest in our league would not be able to start playing in April 2011 because they had already joined spring leagues for the 2011 season. We have heard everyone’s concerns and have decided to push back the start of our league until Dec of 2011. We will continue to make contact with the many teams in the DMV area to have them join what will be one of the top indoor minor leagues in America. Also we have been contacted by a couple of other minor indoor leagues who are interested in doing inter league games with us once we get things started.

On March 27, 2011 the Delamarva Bayriders professional football team traveled to Freestate Arena to take on the D.C. Nemesis , during the snowy trip to the arena hopes were high for the game ,however; fate and the Nemisis had other plans. In what started out looking like it was goin to be an offensive fireworks show, with D.C. scoring ontheir first drive and the Bayriders answering returning the following kick off for a score, then to follow that the Nemisis drove the ball down the field to score again to make the score 13-6. Thats when the offense for both teams slowed to a halt, in the following drive the Bayriders drove down the field only to have a touchdown completion on 4th and goal from Horton to Fountain called incomplete with the official explanation being that Fountain hit the wall before his feet touched the ground. The Bayriders Defense led by Joey Costa tightened down to continually give the ball back to Horton and the offense ,however, with dropped passes and multiple bad snaps the Bayriders were unable to capitalize on anything. Heading into week 3 the Bayriders will work to fix their offensive woes .
