The Tri-Cities Fever re-signed another big part of its offense this week. The Fever has re-signed offensive lineman Kenneth Ackerman (6-foot-3, 295 pounds. Ackerman played a key role on the offensive line for the Fever in 2010 and was a huge part of the Fever being one of the top scoring offenses in the Indoor Football League. He is the second starting offensive lineman from 2010 to re-sign with the Fever this offseason. The Fever also continued to fill out its training camp roster late last week, adding defensive tackle Brandon Daniel (6-4, 330) and receiver Jackie Chambers (5-10, 186).
Daniel, who played at the University of Florida, most recently played for the Rochester Raiders of the IFL. Last season, he played in nine games and recorded 13 tackles for the Raiders.
Chambers, who was a standout for Lane College after transferring from South Florida, most recently was under contract with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League.
The Fever also released defensive back Montavis Pitts.
The Fever opens its 2011 season on Feb. 17 in an exhibition game against the Wenatchee Valley Venom.
