New Oklahoma City IFL Organization Unveils Team Name & Logo
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK. : Following the launching of a new era of Oklahoma City Indoor Professional Football, and a special "Name the Team" contest, the newly based Oklahoma City IFL organization has announced on Monday, November 22 that the team name will be the Bricktown Brawlers. The Oklahoma City community was given the opportunity to vote for one of three options online, and by a 70% margin "Bricktown Brawlers" was the outright selection. "We were very excited with the amount of votes and feedback we received from the Oklahoma City community. We believe the name "Bricktown Brawlers" is perfect representation for this organization and for Oklahoma City. There are many great things in line for Brawlers Professional Football and this upcoming season." stated Bricktown Brawlers Team Owner & President Dale Morris.
In addition to the unveiling of the team's name, the Bricktown Brawlers unveiled the new team logo (pictured left). As a reminder, the Bricktown Brawlers begin the 2011 Indoor Football League regular season on the road against the West Texas Roughnecks on Monday, February 21. The Brawlers February 21 match-up with the Roughnecks will be a part of the IFL Kickoff Classic weekend.
The home opener of the Brawlers 2011 regular season will be on Sunday, March 6 versus the Allen Wranglers.
