can someone shed some light on the rumor that the SIFL has bought out the AIFA East and are planning to merge them?? I've also heard the AFL is interested in buying the merged leagues out and making it somewhat of a new AF2...there has been rumors of the SIFL requiring rebound nets as of 2012 so maybe that points to the AFL thing being true..we all know the AFL wants to smash other indoor leagues and thinks of them as their step children but does anyone know anything for sure???

I've heard the same things. I think if something like this were to happen, there would be plenty of teams looking for a way out. Columbus moved out of the AIFA because travel was too expensive, this is just the same thing but now with rebound nets.

I heard this rumor too. Travel costs will be the downfall of the AIFA and the IFL

It's not a rumor anymore. The Trenton Steel announcement that they are joining the SIFL all but confirmed it.
