The Indoor Football League is proud to announce the addition of a new member team in Oklahoma City for the 2011 season. The AFL Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz announced today that they will no longer be able to provide football to their community, but there is relief for local fans. A new ownership group will join the IFL as an expansion team in Oklahoma City in 2011.
The new team is scheduled to make its formal announcement during the first week of November. The team is also set to have a "Name the Team" contest for community members to vote on their favorite title for the new team.
"We are very pleased to continue our growth today with the addition of Oklahoma City", commented IFL Commissioner Tommy Benizio, "The new ownership group is very impressive, as are both the community and the arena. We fully expect to provide a great product to the city and see great results on and off the field."
The IFL and the Oklahoma City team both look forward to providing further announcements over the coming weeks and the IFL schedule to be released in the coming days.
