Predators Sign Two-Time Defending United Bowl Champion Head Coach O'Neal
SEATTLE, WA- The Kent Predators of the Indoor Football League (IFL), the world's largest indoor professional football association, have signed three-time overall and two-time defending United Bowl Champion Head Coach Heron O'Neal for the 2011 season, with an option for 2012.
Coach O'Neal led the Billings Outlaws to the 2009 and 2010 United Bowl Championships (IFL Championship Game), and 2006 UIF Championship. In his five-year tenure with the Outlaws, Coach O'Neal amassed a 67-17 record. He has more than a dozen years of pro football experience as a player (NFL, AFL) and coach (IFL, NIFL, af2).
West Coast Sports President and CEO Michael Tuckman welcomed O'Neill to Seattle: "My partners and I are thrilled to have someone with Coach O'Neal's background and experience guiding the Predators into our second IFL season. As both a player and coach, Heron's been a winner everywhere he's gone, and we pledge to provide him with the resources he needs to make the Kent Predators his next IFL Championship team in 2011."
Heron O'Neal, a native of Chicago and graduate of Western Michigan University with a Bachelors of Science degree, stated, "I am honored by the opportunity the Kent Predator organization has provided me. I am looking forward to instilling a championship mindset here in Kent."
The Kent Predators debuted in the IFL this past February, playing all seven home games of the 2010 season at 6,000-seat ShoWare Center in Kent, WA, a Seattle suburb. The Predators share the venue with the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League.
The 2011 IFL season schedule will be released on October 15th.
