Tucson Thunder Kats Introduce Floyd Johnson as Head Coach
Tucson, AZ: The Tucson Thunder Kats introduced Floyd Johnson as the head coach for the 2011 season. Coach Johnson has eleven years of successful coaching experience, including serving as the head coach with the Colorado Springs Candoo's of the National Indoor Football League (NIFL) and the New Mexico Wildcats of the American Indoor Football Association (AIFA). Coach Johnson also played professional football for eight years in the World League, European Football League, Arena Football League, and the National Indoor Football League.
"This is a great organization" said Johnson "it is better than any I've ever seen. They are doing everything the way they are supposed to do it". Coach Johnson has high expectations for the 2011 season, when asked about his expectations for the first year he replied "Nothing less than winning at least the division and getting to the playoffs. I think we can do much better than that in our first year with the talent I'm planning on bringing in and the local talent from around here I think we can make a run for the whole thing".
The Tucson Thunder Kats are a professional indoor football team that will play in the American Indoor Football Association (AIFA). Home games will be played at the Tucson Convention Center. The Thunder Kats offer fast paced, high scoring professional football in an affordable family friendly atmosphere.
The Thunder Kats are committed to being a positive influence in the Tucson community through several local organizations, including the Thunder Kat Nation Kids program that will promote integrity, values, honesty and hard work.
Open player tryouts will be held on October 16th.
Lady Thunder Kats will hold dance team tryouts on October 23rd.
