Green Bay, WI - The Green Bay Blizzard went 10-4 in their inaugural season in the Indoor Football League last year. One of the major reasons for their success was the Defensive Line which will be veterans for the 2011 season. They are James McClinton, Greg Terrell, Jeremiah Price, and Nweike Osemene. Head Coach Rik Richards said, "I feel we can build a tremendous defense around this defensive line rotation."
DL James McClinton (6'0" 304lbs.): McClinton was added to the roster mid season and saw action in ten games for the Blizzard. In those ten games, McClinton was a major force in the middle recording 36 total tackles (22 solo) and 7 sacks. At Kansas, McClinton was a key part of the #7 ranked 12-1 team that won the 2008 Orange Bowl. He was awarded the 2007 Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year as well as All-American Second Team his senior year. McClinton was named the team's most improved defensive player and also earned the Iron Hawk award for his performance in the weight room.
DL Greg Terrell (6'5" 265lbs.): Terrell played in the Blizzard's final three games of the 2010 season recording 10 total tackles, with two sacks and a pass breakup. Terrell expressed his feelings saying, "I am very excited about the upcoming season, and the team will be very strong this year. We have several guys from last year's defense coming back. Again, I am very excited to be in Green Bay and playing for the Blizzard." In 2008, Terrell was named the University of Memphis Defensive Player of the Year.
DL Jeremiah Price (6'2" 260lbs.): Price was a three year letter winner at Oklahoma State University and was another member of the Blizzard defensive line that was added late in the year. Price played in the last two games for the Blizzard (both against Chicago) and recorded 12 total tackles, eight of which were solo.
DL Nweike Osemene (6'4" 260lbs): Osemene, a product out of East Carolina joined the Blizzard for the matchup against the West Michigan ThunderHawks. In his three games with the Blizzard, Osemene was a crucial part of the defensive line for the stretch run in June. In those three games, Osemene recorded four total tackles, with two being solo.
