I'm new to this board, but I have been following the IIFA for two years. Its a good league but needs some work.

To Mr. Rush and askjeeves, Do you really understand what semipro/minor leauge football is? The semipro teams do not issue out equitment/uniforms or insurance for the players. The plays buy there own stuff, now some teams offer game pants and jerseys but thats it. They also if going out of town pay there own way, or buy a seat on a bus. Now this leauge is not an "high" dollar deal but a player does not have to deal with that here. And also if a team wins the championship they receive a ring WITHOUT cost. Semipro or the ones I know have players buying there own rings. Now evern though the players do not receive a "paycheck" they do receive other things that the "semipro" does not. Plus the fact is this leauge is designed to feed the IFL or the SIFL.

OK...but professional leagues pay their players. The IIFA does not, therefore it is semi pro.
The IIFA is a very good semi pro indoor league. It's a good league for players to get indoor experience.

I am well aware of what makes a league semi-pro. Some semi-pro leagues do ineed provide equipment and do not charge for bus seats. They may charge a deposit from a player to use their equipment but thats no worse than chargina a player for an open tryout fee. Technically, unless you recieve a paycheck you are not a professional. Unless you recieve a paycheck you are still an amatuer and still eligible to play in college technically. What this league is..just like you said..is a feeder league...so maybe if you wanna get bent out of shape about the whole "pro" lable then call it a "professional developmental league". Because unless you receive a paycheck..you are not a pro. Even if you sign with a pro arena team and are cut in camp you still retain your college eligibility as long as you never recieved pay or housing.

again just to clear the air i'm not dogging this league at all..i think the idea of a feeder league is awesome actually...but the fact is..its a semi-pro or developmental league...not a professional league...still serves its purpose I'm sure and it looks to be pretty well run!
