AIFA Wishes Reading Express Success In Future Endeavors
The Reading Express notified the AIFA that they will not be renewing their AIFA Territory agreement for the 2011 season. The Reading Express spent four seasons in the AIFA reaching the playoffs the first three years and winning AIFA Bowl III in 2009. The 2010 season saw the Express battle it down to the wire for the last Eastern Conference playoff spot where they came up just short. The Express started out as an AIFA league owned team, the AIFA later sold it Ted and Lisa Lavender during the AIFA inaugural season.
We are saddened by the decision of the Reading Express to leave the AIFA but we are excited about the future of the AIFA and its accomplishments to date. The AIFA celebrated one of its greatest events this past weekend as the Baltimore Mariners beat the Wyoming Cavalry in its championship game AIFA Bowl IV 57 to 42 in front of 6000 plus fans. This victory gave the Mariners a perfect record for the season at 16 wins and no losses and allowed them to join an exclusive club of professional sports teams ever to go undefeated in a season. If you missed this tremendous game it is not to late to see it, starting this weekend it will be available on national television(taped delayed) on a variety of cable, satellite and over the air affiliates
The AIFA begins preparing for the 2011 season with league meetings set for early September. Look for AIFA expansion cities to be announced soon.
