Harrisburg, PA – A herd of bulls charging is often known as a stampede, and when they face opposition they always seem to bust through and charge towards their target. One thing has been certain this season for the new look Harrisburg Stampede, from the beginning of the season they have been focused on reaching the playoffs. With a full pack of thundering football players in blue and gold playing like a team, they have faced every challenge with a new strategy, new desire, and growing love of the game. This drive has led the Stampede to their first ever playoff game for the franchise as they were able to finish the regular season at 11-3 and in 2nd place in their East Division. A 2nd place regular season finish in only our 2nd year in this league means that the Stampede will not only be playing in that first playoff game; they will be hosting. When the Erie Storm come to town this Friday, July 2nd at 7:00 pm, the Farm Show Arena will be rockin’ with fans and football fanatics alike. With tickets ranging from 10-15 dollars, this fast paced action is easy on the wallet too!
“I couldn’t think of a better group of guys to represent this franchise. Their hard work and dedication to this game and this city of Harrisburg really has helped drive them through injury and hardship and made them the group of guys I am proud to put on the field Friday night.” said owner, John Morris. Morris and co-owner, Fred Clark, are really proud to add another winning organization to the Central Pennsylvania region. With teams in Hershey and Harrisburg to model after, the Stampede have found a strong central fan base that is continually growing with every win. “As the run for a championship continues, the players are performing on a higher level each week.” Ramon Robinson, head coach of the Stampede said after being doused with Gatorade towards the end of the last game on Saturday. Fans who come out to the “Show” (Farm Show Arena), are energized by the dancing players, fast pace and the true concept of family fun. One fan was quoted as saying, “My kids love it! They attended the Capital Blue Cross clinics with the players the past few weeks, learned about football and the clinic’s really showcased the mission of service that the players on this team have in helping youth football grow in the Harrisburg area.” The front office and the ownership of the Stampede stressed the fact in a recent post game meeting with the team that, this playoff run would not just be for the team, but for the city of Harrisburg.
