SLAUGHTER UPDATE: Chicago, which is coached by former Chicago Bears standout defensive tackle Steve McMichael, has won three straight and is averaging 42.2 points a game. The Slaughter's quarterbacks, Randy Hutchison and Tavares Woodley, combined to throw for four touchdowns in Chicago's victory over Kent. RB Jarrett Payton, son of NFL Hall of Fame running back Walter Payton, has rushed for 172 yards and 7 TDs. WR Reggie Gray caught five passes for 120 yards and 3 TDs against Kent. Tyrone Myers (41 tackles) leads the Slaughter's defense.
SPARTANS UPDATE: Buddy Rivera, who was signed last week, might be the guy to spark La Crosse's offense, which has scored a league-low 180 points. Rivera completed 13 of 20 pass attempts for 202 yards and 2 TDs in the Spartans' loss to West Michigan, and he also rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown. WRs Aaron Straiten and Lawrence Hellams may see extended action tonight if Antonio Overstreet (676 total yards, 5 TDs) and Jamil Abdullah, both of whom left last week's games with injuries, are still hurting. Michael Ebanks (32 tackles) leads La Crosse's defense.
