blog.pennlive.com/patriotnewssports/2010/04/banged-up_harrisburg_stampede.htmlIt's a good thing another bye week is scheduled for the Harrisburg Stampede.
The team, riding a four-game winning streak, has been hit with several injuries, so the time off will help in that regard.
Late in in last week's 49-21 AIFA home victory over Fayetteville, linebacker Cory Groover was taken off the field on a stretcher. The injury, which appeared to be serious at the time, was diagnosed as a bruised back.
"That's all it was ... and he will be back in two weeks," Harrisburg coach Ramon Robinson said. "I don't like all of the bye weeks we have [second of three], but in our case it will give us time to heal all of the bumps and bruises."
In the secondary, Archie Smith played last week at less than 100 percent with a sore right hamstring. Marcus Sargeant, however, will miss 4-6 weeks with a broken foot. Another significant injury is receiver Silas Daniels' hyperextended elbow.
Following the bye week, the Stampede (4-1) will take to the road for two Eastern Division games -- April 24 at the New Jersey Revolution and May 2 at the first-place Baltimore Mariners.
